Winterville Comprehensive Plan Update


Pictures to your right were taken at a Future Landuse workhop attended by approximately 100 citizens and others interested in the future of the City of Winterville. This workshop was sponsored by the Winterville Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee. This committee met for approximately two years. The plan and future landuse map were approved by the Winterville City Council in Dec. 2007 and these documents were forwarded to the state.


More information on the comprehensive plan is available on the www.athensclarkecounty.com website or you may visit the ACC Planning Department at 120 West Dougherty Street in downtown Athens. If you have questions or comments you may email: BruceLonnee@co.clarke.ga.us.


Georgia communities are required to prepare comprehensive plans every ten years in order to satisfy state regulations, and a current Comprehensive Plan is needed in order to be considered a Qualified Local Government in the State of Georgia.
