Public Hearing & Regular Meeting

Monday May 1, 2023 - 5:30 P.M.


Members Present: Kim Burch, Chairperson

Andy Dawson

Collin Field

James Tucker

Russell Cochran


Regular Meeting:

Chairperson Burch called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.

Minutes: Member Field moved to approve the minutes of April 3, 2023. The motion was seconded by Member Tucker and approved unanimously.


Old Business:

None.


New Business:

1. Janice Raiford was not in attendance but had asked Clerk Bond a question regarding putting a storage building behind the Markets of Winterville building. Due to issues of safety and set-backs, making it unfeasible, Member Field moved to deny any application for such a request. The motion was seconded by Member Dawson and denied unanimously.


2. Nathaniel and Christi Sedlacek, 3000 Hickory Lane, submitted plans and an application for a detached building/barn for RV storage. Having met all requirements and setbacks, Member Dawson moved to approve as submitted. The motion was seconded by Member Cochran and approved unanimously.


3. Marion and Sharon Kenneybrew, 1025 Moores Grove Road, submitted an incomplete application for enclosing a deck. Since they have not responded to any emails and were not in attendance, no action was taken.


4. Business License Application, GoHam’s Kicks. Vida Jefferies submitted a business license

application for a new business at 225 Cherokee Road, Unit #3. His initial business applied for

was for a retail shoe store, food and car detailing. He had been serving food but was told by the ACC Health Department this is not allowable until he can meet the requirements of a restaurant. Member Dawson moved to approve and recommend approval to Mayor and Council for his business as a retail store but no detailing of vehicles would be allowed or serving of food. The motion was seconded by Member Field and approved unanimously.


Having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
