🚨WINTER WEATHER ALERT🚨

​

The City of Winterville urges residents to prepare for dangerous winter weather conditions expected this weekend with snow accumulation likely. Travel may become hazardous and power outages are possible. Residents are encouraged to shelter at home if it is safe to do so. Please limit travel and check on elderly or vulnerable neighbors.

 

A temporary overnight shelter in the Lay Park Gymnasium, located at 297 Hoyt Street, will be open from Friday, January 30 at 7:00 PM - Sunday, February 1 at noon (subject to close earlier if National Weather Service forecast predictions improve) for those seeking shelter, in addition to other ongoing shelter resources. No pets, drugs, alcohol, or weapons. Cots may not be available for every individual depending on availability and capacity

 

A number of ongoing emergency resources and shelters, as well as any temporary resources, are also listed at www.accgov.com/shelter and will be updated throughout the weekend and the winter months.
