The Winterville City Mayor and Council have tentatively adopted a 2025 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 1.83 percent. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at City Hall (Council Chamber), 125 North Church Street, Winterville, on July 1, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.


Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at City Hall (Council Chamber), 125 N Church St, Winterville, on July 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. and at City Hall (Council Chamber), 125 N Church St, Winterville, on July 8, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.


This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 2.900 mills, an increase of 0.052 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 2.848 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $375,000 is approximately $7.80 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $475,000 is approximately $9.88.
